Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar has resigned his position as Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. Kimiebi Ebienfa the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigeria confirmed the development thus: “The resignation of the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs is confirmed.”
Tuggar resigned to pursue his publicly declared intention of contesting for the position of Governor of Bauchi State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress APC.
He has become the first high ranking member of the administration of the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to resign in order to run for Political Office .
The Government had set a deadline of March 31 for officials in Appointed positions interested in jostling for elective positions in 2027 to resign.
