In line with the scheduled maintenance works on Marine Bridge by the Federal Ministry of Works, the Lagos State Government has released a traffic management plan which will commence on Sunday, 18th May to Sunday, 8th June, 2025.
To minimize traffic disruption, the maintenance work will be carried out in two phases. Phase 1 will span from the foot of Marine Bridge (Lawani Oguntayo Road inbound Apapa/Costain) while Phase 2 will cover Ijora Badia and Lilypond Access Ramp inbound Apapa.
During this course of the maintenance, Motorists are advised to use the following alternative routes:
PHASE 1
Motorists inbound Apapa from Ijora Oloopa.
Motorists from Ijora Oloopa heading towards Apapa are to use Ijora Causeway access ramp by Omni Retail Company and continue their journey.
PHASE 2
Motorists Inbound Apapa from Costain.
Motorists heading to Apapa from Costain will be diverted into a contraflow on the lane inbound Costain.
In the same vein, from 2nd to 8th June, 2025, Motorists from Ijora Olopa going to Apapa will be diverted through Ijora Causeway access ramp by Omni Retail Company into Lilypond Access Road to continue their journeys.
The bridge will be fully reopened to traffic on Monday, 9th June, 2025.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi reassures that the Ministry will oversee and manage vehicular movement along the corridor through the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority to minimize all inconveniences.
ADVISORY: – Motorists are implored to be patient as the Partial closure is part of the traffic management plans for the maintenance works on the underlying bearing of some section on the Marine Bridge by the Federal Ministry of Works (Office of the Federal Controller, Lagos).
