The Super Eagles and their Portuguese coach, Jose Paseiro, have been in the news all week following the drawn match against Zimbabwe in Rwanda.
There is a concensus that the Eagles played poorly, that Paseiro is to blame and must go.
The conversation takes front seat again tomorrow morning with Guests from backgrounds relatively distant from the main theatre of football. They shall be speaking on behalf of the People, far from the mob baying for Paseiro’s blood.
But what does the public really think and feel when the facts of the matter are laid bare before them?
Two unconnected friends have been very vehement with theìr views on Jose Paseiro, the state of Nigerian football and the possible consequences, beyond football, of the failure of the Eagles at the two most important international championships – AFCON 2023 and qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
