The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has disclosed that he has nothing against the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi. Wike disclosed that his only concern in the presidential election was to ensure that a southerner becomes the president.
Wike went on to say that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was lied to by some persons who told them that the entire northern part of Nigeria will support Atiku Abubakar’s bid to become Nigeria’s president.
According to Nyesom Wike, following the lies that were sold to Atiku Abubakar he believed that he did not need anyone else to become the president, except the north. Nyesom Wike claimed that the illusion that the north will support Atiku Abubakar failed to materialize because Nigerians knew that for unity to be sustained, a southern candidate must be supported.
Nyesom Wike went on to say that the APC could have presented a northerner like PDP did with Atiku Abubakar, but APC governors came out and wrote a letter to Buhari and explained why it was important to support some from the south to lead Nigeria.
