France media company Canal+ has officially completed its $3 billion acquisition of South Africa 🇿🇦 based MultiChoice, the company behind DStv and GOtv.
MultiChoice is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Canal+.
The French broadcaster plans to expand investment in streaming services, advanced technology, local African content, and sports programming across the continent.
The acquisition creates one of Africa’s largest media and entertainment companies and is expected to strengthen Canal+’s presence in African markets as competition in the streaming industry continues to grow.
