President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to ending the recent blackout that plunged 17 northern states into darkness is resolute; he has directed swift, coordinated efforts to restore power while confronting those behind the sabotage. This crisis has disrupted millions’ social and economic lives, compelling Mr President to rally the Power Ministry, security agencies, and key government bodies to accelerate the repair of the Shiroro-Kaduna transmission line, a vital energy link damaged by unpatriotic and unscrupulous elements.
National unity is at the heart of Tinubu’s strategy to secure Nigeria’s power infrastructure. Recognising the deep connection between electricity and economic vitality, Tinubu has engaged security forces under the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, alongside community-led neighbourhood watch groups, to provide a protective shield for maintenance crews working on these lines. By urging northern elders, traditional rulers, and community leaders to play an active role, Tinubu emphasises their importance in safeguarding critical public assets. This inclusive approach aims to deter further vandalism and highlights the importance of community solidarity in overcoming challenges posed by banditry and infrastructure insecurity.
