On this Day of the Seafarers, we honour the men and women who carry the weight of world trade across oceans most people will never see.
Behind every ship is a human being a father, mother, son, daughter, husband, wife, friend standing watch through storms, loneliness, danger, fatigue, and uncertainty, just to keep the world moving.
The food on our tables, the fuel in our homes, the clothes we wear, the medicines we depend on, and the goods that connect nations are carried by seafarers who often risk their comfort, health, and sometimes their lives in silence.
Carrying world trade. Carrying the risks.
Today, we do not just celebrate your profession we recognise your sacrifice, your courage, your discipline, and your resilience.
And to the many who went to sea and never returned, we remember you with honour. Your courage will never be forgotten. May God comfort your families in a special way, strengthen their hearts, and grant them peace. Though you are no longer with us, in spirit, you still sail.
To every seafarer at sea, in port, on leave, or waiting for the next call: your work matters. Your story matters. The world moves because you do.
