President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State to vote for Senator Buhari AbdulFatai Ph.D in today’s gubernatorial primary election, describing him as a key asset to the party in the state.
The directive came early this morning following a series of phone consultations between the President and senior APC leaders in Oyo State.
According to a statement issued after the engagements, President Tinubu said Senator Buhari Abdulfatai is a “golden star of the APC in Oyo State” who has delivered electoral victories for the party across three consecutive election cycles.
The President commended Buhari’s loyalty and consistency, noting that a politician of his reputation and standing should not be abandoned by the party. “Such a reputable and dependable figure deserves the full backing of the APC at this critical moment,” Tinubu was quoted as saying.
With Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Ali’s name absent from the shortlist of qualified gubernatorial aspirants released for today’s exercise, the President urged all APC members across the state to rally behind Buhari Abdulfatai.
He stated that a united front behind Buhari would position the party to win Oyo State convincingly in the 2027 governorship election.
Party members are currently getting ready to cast their ballots in the primary election taking place across designated centers in the state.
