The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, PhD, fcai., on Monday, 11th May, 2026, received a delegation of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), FCT Chapter, led by the Chairperson, Mrs Hajia Maimuna Muhammed Sanusi, at the FCT Police Command Headquarters, Garki II, Abuja.
During the visit, the POWA Chairperson expressed appreciation to the Commissioner of Police for approving the visit and commended his leadership and dedication towards ensuring the safety and security of residents of the Federal Capital Territory. She reaffirmed the commitment of POWA to supporting police officers and their families, while also promoting the welfare and unity of police households across the Command.
Mrs Hajia Maimuna Muhammed Sanusi noted that the Association recognizes the sacrifices and dedication of police officers in the discharge of their duties and assured officers of the continuous support, encouragement, and solidarity of POWA. She further stated that the Association would continue to seek the guidance and support of the leadership of the Command in achieving its objectives and improving the welfare of police families.
In his response, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, PhD, fcai., appreciated the delegation for the visit and acknowledged the important role played by POWA in supporting officers and strengthening family values within the Police Force. He assured the Association of the Command’s support towards its programmes and activities aimed at improving the welfare and wellbeing of police families.
The CP further encouraged members of POWA to remain steadfast in their support for their husbands, noting that the encouragement and stability provided by their families contribute greatly to effective policing and service delivery.
The visit concluded with goodwill messages and reaffirmation of the shared commitment towards the welfare of police personnel and the continued safety of the Federal Capital Territory.
