The revisionists are not demented as some of us may think, envy happened to be the mother of their Alzheimer; when envy is in memory is out; we are therefore duty-bound to put the record straight when and where envy may want to rear its ugly head and see things with its jaundiced eye.
How on Earth could anyone ask what did Otunba Gbenga Daniel do as the Governor of the Gateway State if not for the Alzheimer orchestrated by envy and ambition ? For the sake of the blind, the Sky thunders; for the sake of the deaf it gathers storms; that is Otunba Gbenga Daniel in the State, the juggernaut in the mirror, the Mammoth on the scale.
His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, deserves better than that we asked: what had he done? A man that came to office with master plan that remains the map of movement in Governor’s office today. Who dreamt Cargo Airport? Who upgraded Olumo Rock with elevator? Who first brought Dangote to the State? Who then is still asking what had the pathfinder done? The beacon and the buoy in the Government’s path.
Another day, another development; a Governor that trained the jobless youths within his hundred days in office; turned them to the employers of labour; some in painting industry and some in Agriculture. Those in painting Industry did not just repaint the Governor’s Office, they also produced the paint they used for the facelift; all within his hundred days in office.
How come they have quickly forgotten Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s Voluntary Teacher Programme if not for envy and ambition? A programme that boosted and fortified standard in our schools with additional thousands of teachers; all within hundred days in office. Today, substantial number of teachers in our schools are those who came in through this standard in our School programme.
If only OSUPEB could help with data then we would know the number of primary schools rebuilt by His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel; records do not lie; good to compare Apple with Apple here.
Where were they when Otunba Gbenga Daniel pioneered University of Education in the entire Nation? Today, the same University is the jewel on the State’s crown, so precious is the jewel that Federal Government cannot afford to look the other way but to quickly add it to its prime movers in the Country. Who is still asking then what the Prime Mover had done? OGD? What did he do or what?
Who is that Governor in the State that has invested in Agriculture like His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel? A Governor that revisited the Old Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s Agric settlement, rebuilt the houses, made them more comfortable for the inhabitants and supplied the settlements with Tractors. A refinement where all you needed do was just to write the State Tractor Manager for tractor in your farm and before you could say Justus Daniel the tractor was already in your farm. Miracle or what? OGD! OGD!! OGD!!! Man Mountain, Man Mammoth; who else is like you? Who even nears you? Òtúnba Gbénga Daniel, kò s’ígi méjì Obì ní’gbó; eegun bí eyín s’òwón l’ára.
Sometimes l wonder, do the diminishers of Otunba Gbenga Daniel walk in the State at all or are they just walking blindly? How come they are not seeing the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency’s Corps everywhere in the State? The agency for the protection of life and property on our roads did not fall from nowhere, it was the creation of the master of safety himself.
What about OGROMA, the Ogun State Road Maintenance Agency? Only one with ego, blinded with envy and ambition would not doff his cap for Otunba Gbenga Daniel here. This was not just about road maintenance, it was also about self reliance, the spirit of do it yourself.
OGROMA started with wheelbarrow, shovel and Elephant Pan; it started by filling potholes on our roads; suddenly the wheelbarrow carriers turned the bitumen sprayer drivers; challenging massive projects like the dualisation of Abeokuta-Shagamu exchange road.
This is a strategic road like no other in the State, a road that links Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to key industrial areas like Papalanto and Abeokuta; facilitating transport for major Companies like LAFARGE and DANGOTE.
Who is still asking for OGD’s wonders in Ogun State? Who ever thought that such massive project could be handled by OGROMA the wheelbarrow driver if not for the first class Engineer like Otunba Gbenga Daniel? Do it yourself, self reliance, say no to unemployment and Capital flight. Thumbs up Your Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel; University of Lagos produced a genius, Justus Gbenga Daniel is his name; there was a Governor.
If only for the above and no other, who can obliterate your logo in Ogun State? Who can really dwarf you OGD? Your footprints are indelible, your wonders are eloquent, your work speaks volume.

OGD ON SCALE, MAMMOTH IN MIRROR( 2).
Unless you are professional author, how could you have written the achievements of His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel as the Governor of Ogun State in a slot? Myriad! Beaucoup!! Copious!!! So long an epistle.
You would think l had written much in my first write-up under the same heading but truly, truly l tell you; l had not done much, l had just scratched it.
For instance, l reminded you about OGD’s indelible mark in education; l wrote about the establishment of Tai Solarin University of Education which is today the toast of the Federal Government. Had l really written much? Had l truly explored Otunba’s gaint stride in education? Could that be all? Far from it.
l was plainly unfair to His Excellency if that was all I could say; l had grossly shortchanged the man that turned Ogun State to the hub of education in the Country.
What about the establishment of four different Polytechnics in just a slot. The Gateway ( ICT) Polytechnic, Sapade; Abraham Adesanya ( ICT) Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo; Gateway (ICT) Polytechnic ( Igbesa) and D.S. Adegbenro ( ICT) Polytechnic, Itori. Did l really mention anything about this monumental feat? Poor me, lazy me; Otunba deserves more than the tip of ice berg.
When we say stand up for the Champion and shower accolades on the nonpareil; we are not just being kiddy and mouthy about it; we are simply acknowledging his unparalleled gigantic strides in the State.
Before the yellow roofing sheet in the State was the red roofing sheet, l just told you in the part one of this write up that Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s blue print remains the master plan in the Governor’s Office till today.
The story of Ogun State Bulk Purchase will remain incomplete without the mentioning of.the red roofing sheets under the management of our lovable brother and able leader, Mr Dipo Sofowora. Oh My God! So nostalgic, the good old days of Ogun State Bulk Purchase.
I also told you about the Construction of Abeokuta-Shagamu Exchange Road by OGROMA; had l really said much? Not at all. What about the massive Trailer Park in Ogere Remo? Did l say anything about it? Haba Flash!!!
At the first sight the ordinary will think this is just to reduce the traffic log jam on the Lagos-Ibadan Express road. Oh yes, it is; you and l can precisely remember the Bumper to Bumper traffic on the road then due to the cargo through put by Trailers.
But that is not all, the location of the Trailer Park in Ogere Reno was much more strategic, can you guess why? Where is Ogun State Agro Cargo Airport located? Iperu, Good. And which vehicles will bring Cargoes to the Airport? Trailers of course. Can you then see the brain behind the location of Trailer Park in Ogere, a stone throw to Iperu? OGD, Ogbón pò jù! Ogbón jé en sù Ògá mi!! Mí Ogbón jé en sù Òtúnba!!! The master planner himself, e yàtò sí won jòó! Maximum respect Obalófin !!!
Besides Parking, the location instantly becomes the land stowage area where the land stuffing and discharging of the outgoing and incoming cargoes take place. The Port, the Road, the Park; what a multimodal system!!! See brain, see intellect; thumbs up OGD; indeed, there was a Governor.
And when the man that daily ponders over the strategies towards development talks, the Lilliputians shamefully shout he is bragging; who could have bragged if not the egghead; do the nincompoops brag of their emptiness? For where?
They expect the hero to keep mute over his agape rarity but who among them will light his candle and put it under a bushel? Who exactly among the jealous?
Continue to blow your trumpet Otunba Gbenga Daniel, blow it and deafen their ears, blow it and ache their heads, blow it and ache their bellies lest it rusts and the dwarfs claim they are taller than the giant. You actually did it, if not, why not? Flaunt it buoyantly and exuberantly Daniel the Great.
