The Ministry of Establishments and Training has commenced a specialised training programme for paramilitary officers comprising those from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) and Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC).
The training with the theme, “Public Relations in Enhancing Brand Visibility and Credibility in Lagos State,” was designed to help officers project a positive image of their agencies while promoting the values of integrity and public trust.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishments and Training, Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun, represented by the Director of Training, Mrs. Modupe Animasaun, noted that paramilitary officers play a vital role in maintaining law, order and safety across the State.
She, however, said that their impact goes beyond operational performance, stating that effective communication and public engagement are equally important in building credibility and strengthening the image of government institutions.
More than 200 participants from LASTMA, VIO and LAGESC are taking part in the training, which is being held at the Ojodu Resource Centre.
