I first heard Wizkid’s music when I was listening to a bunch of upcoming artistes and just loved it. Infact before I started working with Wizkid, he had already recorded his first chorus for MI.
The very first day that I saw Wizkid in person, he was Kels’ hypeman. We were all at a show with myself, MI, LD, and Kels. And Wizkid was faithfully serving as Kels’ hypeman. And Wizkid was a very good backup singer for Kels. And so when I signed him and we started working, he was my backup singer for about a year before he started making his own music.
Wizkid has done more in the music business than any artiste in Nigeria including me. Wizkid is one of the most hardworking and most humble artistes I’ve ever met in my life. He’s very loyal and I’m proud that I had the opportunity to be part of his walk to success. I know that even if I didn’t sign Wizkid he would’ve still been successful because he has always been a hustler. Wizkid story is very inspiring, I watched him start from zēro to hero.” Banky W
