AFCON 2023 Special edition of “90 minutes with Mathematical”.
Africa’s greatest single sports event, AFCON 2023, starts tomorrow. For the next 28 days, 52 matches will be played between 24 countries. At the end only one teàm will mount the podium of victory.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles are not amongst the teams considered favourites to win the championship. That honour belongs to Senegal, Algeria and a few others, all ahead of Nigeria according to ‘experts’ in the betting odds business.
Most Nigerians share similar sentiments. Yet as the hour of reckoning draws near, they start to fret and wish and ‘believe’ that, with fasting and prayer, the Eagles will win.
Suddenly, expectations are sky-high, and the people cannòt wait for the Eagles’ first match on Sunday.
