Bashir Badru, a legal practitioner hailing from Kano State, has emphasized that President Bola Tinubu will not allow himself to be diverted by the petitions contesting the results of the 2023 presidential election. In an interview with Central TV, Badru expressed his unwavering belief that Tinubu would remain unaffected by any rulings from the Presidential Elections Petition Tribunal (PEPT), drawing attention to the fact that no tribunal worldwide has ever removed a sitting president.

He advised President Tinubu to concentrate on his responsibilities and disregard the opposition’s attempts to overturn the election outcome. He clarified that since Tinubu has already been inaugurated, it would be arduous for the opposition to present sufficient evidence to sway the tribunal in their favor.
Encouraging Tinubu to hit the ground running and commence his work promptly, Badru stated, “There has never been a case where a sitting president has been removed by a tribunal anywhere in the world. Therefore, the outcome of the tribunal will not have any impact on Tinubu, regardless of what it may be.” With Tinubu’s official inauguration already complete, it will prove considerably challenging for the opposition to furnish adequate evidence that would convince the tribunal to rule in their favor, as per Badru.
