Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has said the 2027 presidential election will be the easiest for President Bola Tinubu, easier than 2023 contest.
Wike stated this on Monday while speaking during an inspection tour of flood-affected areas in the FCT.
According to him, opposition has been crippled and depleted ahead of 2027, making it difficult to mount strong challenge.
“This election, the 2027 election, will be the easiest election for Mr President. 2023 was a tough election for him. This election, where the opposition has been crippled, you know what it means? Depleted; they finished them,” Wike said.
He argued that to remove a government, opposition must be strong and vibrant, staying for over four years planning, not opposition that keeps moving from Party A to another looking for platform to run.
“Today, they’re going to Party A. So, you see, that kind of opposition can never win. If it is this 2027 election against Bola Ahmed Tinubu, no, forget it. It’s over,” he declared.
Wike said he does not want to reply to political commentaries and people who think appearing before media houses will give them edge to win an election they have lost.
“Nobody can diminish what this administration has done in the past three years. Nobody can diminish it. This administration has done very well as far as the Federal Capital Territory is concerned,” he said.
He also vowed to demolish all houses built on water channels, warning Development Control officials against delay, stressing government has political will to act whether there is election or not.
