President of the Borno South Youth Alliance, Samaila Kaigama has revealed that N5 billion was paid as ransom to secure the release of victims who were abducted in Ngoshe, a community in Borno State.
The youth leader disclosed Senator Ali Ndume’s involvement in ransom payments
He said: “N5Billion Ransom was released. Only N1.9Billion received by bandits. You see why Borno keeps negotiating with and forgiving Bandits. Bandits told me Senator Ali Ndume was their in-house mediator, ransom payments passed only through him”
Kaigama insisted that the information was not based on rumours or speculation but came directly from people he identified as terrorists during discussions relating to hostage negotiations. According to him, they allegedly disclosed how communication channels were established, how negotiations were conducted, and how ransom arrangements were handled.
He claimed that he possesses evidence to support the allegations he made publicly, maintaining that his statements were based on information he personally received from the bandits.
