According to a report by Nigerian Tribune on Sunday, July 12, 2026, Pa Adeniyi Adetunji, father of Prince Adeniyi Mathew Adeyemi, has revealed that officers of the Nigeria Police Force have visited his residence in Ogbomoso on two separate occasions while searching for his son.
He made the disclosure during an interview with journalists, expressing concern over the developments involving his son.
Prince Adeyemi is identified as the Director General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), a controversial agency that was listed and received budgetary allocations in the federal budget but has been alleged to be a non-existent government institution.
Speaking on the controversy, Pa Adetunji said he is still struggling to understand the allegations made against his son.
According to him, he has always known that Prince Adeyemi is employed by the Federal Government and works in Abuja, although he does not know the exact office or department where he is posted.
The elderly father maintained that, to the best of his knowledge, his son has been serving in the Federal Government.
He stated that he had never questioned the nature of his son’s work because he believed he was legitimately employed in Abuja.
Pa Adetunji further disclosed that Prince Adeyemi recently travelled to Ogbomoso to spend about two days with the family before returning to Abuja.
He explained that nothing during the visit suggested that his son was facing any form of investigation or controversy.
He added that he was shocked when reports emerged accusing his son of allegedly presenting himself as the Director General of a government agency.
He said the allegations came as a surprise to him, especially because he has always regarded his son as a calm and responsible individual who had never exhibited questionable behaviour.
“Yes, my son works with the government in Abuja, but I don’t know the particular office. He came home a few days ago before he later returned to Abuja.
“My son is an easy-going type right from his childhood days. That is why I am surprised at the kind of news that I am hearing,” Adetunji narrated
