The Yoruba Regionalism Movement (YRM) watches with deep outrage as insecurity spreads across Yorubaland like wildfire. The recent abduction of innocent children in Esinle, Oriire LGA, Oyo State, is not just another headline. It is a direct attack on our children, our future, and the very borders our ancestors defended with their blood.
A Wake-Up Call to All Yoruba
YRM is speaking directly to every Yoruba son and daughter—from Lagos to Ekiti, from Oyo to the frontier towns of Kwara and Kogi.
The time has come to answer one question honestly when the survival of our race is at stake. where does our loyalty lies? Is it With religion, or with your people?
Terrorists do not check your mosque attendance or your church membership before they pull the trigger. They do not ask if you are Muslim, Christian, or traditionalist before they chain a child in the forest.
So we ask you:
– Do you believe the children kidnapped in Oyo are only Christians or traditionalists?
– Do you believe there are no Muslim children suffering right now in those camps?
This Is Not About Religion. It’s About Land and Power.
Let no one deceive you. This is not a holy war. This is a calculated campaign for territory, resources, and political dominance.
Ask yourself:
Who are these armed groups flooding our forests?
Where did they come from?
The answer is simple: Ara ile losi lekun fole — it is the insider who opens the door for the thief.
Yoruba Muslims and all Yoruba people must study the past so we do not repeat it.
Remember Afonja of Ilorin. He believed that aligning with external forces for religious or political gain would protect him. In the end, he was betrayed, and Ilorin was lost.
History is repeating itself. If we allow religious sentiment to blind us now, we will hand over Yorubaland to those who seek to subjugate us.
Our shared blood, language, and ancestry are greater than any religious line outsiders use to divide us. it comes first before any division.
An attack in Oriire is an attack on Ibadan. An attack in Kwara is an attack on Oyo. An attack in Kogi is an attack on Ekiti.
Banditry anywhere in the South West is an attack on the entire Yoruba nation.
Our Demand to Traditional Rulers & Local Governments is to tighten surveillance. Empower local security. Stop waiting for Abuja.
To All Yoruba People: Put aside religious division. Stand shoulder to shoulder and let Defend our land, our children, and our future.
To our Politicians Stop playing games with our security. If you cannot deliver state police and regional autonomy, step aside.
Protect Yorubaland. Defend the Yoruba race.
