During plenary proceedings on March 11 and 12, 2026, the House of Representatives formally received notification of a fresh wave of partisan realignments.
Seventeen Members announced their defection from their respective political parties to new platforms, citing leadership crises and internal divisions within the parties that sponsored their election to the House. A development that brings the total number of recorded defections to ninety-one Members since July 2024.
With this latest movement, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) has now completely lost representation in the Green Chamber following the defection of its last remaining Member. Conversely, the Accord Party (AP) secured its first seat in the 10th Assembly last week.
