Oyetola Urge Maritime Agencies To Prioritise 2025 Budget to Enhance Massive and Impactful Development

The minister of marine and Blue economy, Adegboyega Oyetola has urge all agencies under the ministry to come together and Prioritise their 2025 Budget proposals.
He disclose this yesterday 14 January 2025 during the ministry’s meeting with her sisters agencies in Abuja
The minister who reaffirm that the budget no proposal Will further consolidate the plan on the ministry to develop Nigeria’s marine and Blue economy potentials.
Oyetola charge the agencies to demonstrate transparency, fiscal prudency, and strategic prioritization on proposals,, the minister said “Our fiscal strategy must reflect the ambitions outlined in our policy frame works, we are tasked with ensuring that every naira allocated delivers measurable impact ‘
‘ I hope that the 2025 budget will not only provide for the immediate needs of this ministry and agencies but will serve as a catalyst to substanable marine resource management and long term national economic growth ‘ he said.
Oyetola also highlighted that the marine and Blue economy sector holds unparalleled potential for national development as it offers a substanable platform for economy growth, job creation and environment stewardship, adding that attaining these align with key priority areas of the renew hope agenda of president Bola Tinubu as it relates to the marine and blue economy
The minister further stress that resources should be channelled towards strengthen the maritime domain through investment in surveillance system, operations and enforcement of maritime laws.
He also added that there should be a need to enhance capacity in acquaculture, fishing, port and curbing illegal and unregulated fishing activities in the sector.
The minister also expresses confidence on the drafted national policy on marine and blue economy which remains the roadmap that would guide collective effort towards the sustainable management of marine resources.
