The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC), Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, on Friday charged Nigerians to vote out the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration of President Bola Tinubu in the January 2027 general election.
Speaking at the inauguration of the ADC-PCC in Abuja, Ibrahim-Imam said the party is ready to rescue Nigeria.
He urged Nigerians to collect their voter cards and guard their votes peacefully.
“Go out early. Stay until the result is counted and posted. Guard your vote with your eyes, not with your fists, because a peaceful people in their millions cannot be rigged out of their own country,” he said.
He lamented the state of the economy, citing Nigeria’s total public debt which stood at N166.79 trillion as of June 30, 2026, and World Bank figures indicating that about 139 million Nigerians now live below the national poverty line.
“On 29 May 2023 he declared subsidy gone, and by the next day petrol at NNPC stations had jumped from N195 to N537. It later crossed N1,000. Transport followed. Food followed. Rent followed. School fees followed. Everything followed except salaries,” he said.
Ibrahim-Imam told members of the council that they had been handed the burden of the hope of Nigerians.
“There is no room in this Council for faction. There is no room for envy. There is no room for the man who sits in Abuja waiting for the campaign to come and meet him. This campaign will be won in the polling units,” he said.
