The Federal Government has approved ₦1.5 trillion for the reconstruction and dualisation of the Lambata–Bida–Mokwa–Makera–Kontagora Federal Highway in Niger State.
According to reports published on October 7, 2026, the Niger State Government said the project is scheduled for a formal groundbreaking ceremony in Bida on Tuesday, October 13, at 12 noon.
The major highway project is expected to improve road connectivity across several communities in Niger State, facilitate the movement of people and agricultural goods, and strengthen economic links between the state and other parts of Nigeria.
The development is particularly significant for communities and businesses that depend on the corridor for transportation and the movement of goods.
