Declares That Age Cannot Stop Him From Kicking President Bola Tinubu Out Of Power And Taking Over The Presidential Villa, Come 2027
There was nationwide jubilation across the African Democratic Congress, ADC, and other opposition strongholds, on Wednesday, after the ADC 2027 Presidential Candidate, His Excellency, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, declared confidently that age will not stop him from removing President Bola Tinubu from power, come 2027 general elections.
He further likened his mission to that of a former United States of America, USA, President, Abraham Lincoln.
Speaking at the 2026 National Youth Summit of the ADC, Atiku stated that the 2027 Presidential election will be about rescuing Nigeria from the ongoing worsening hardship, insecurity and bad governance.
He told the charged crowd of young Nigerians, that history is on the side of those who stand for unity and democracy.
According to him, the task ahead is similar to what Lincoln faced in America.
He said exactly: “Just like Abraham Lincoln stood firm to preserve the union and give the people their freedom, this is our moment to stand firm and restore Nigeria. Age cannot stop us from kicking President Tinubu out of power in 2027.”
Atiku speaking further, stated that Nigerians are tired of promises without results, and that the ADC is presenting itself as the credible alternative to deliver jobs, security and economic stability, for all people.
He added that the youths will be at the centre of the rescue mission, because they have the numbers and the energy to determine the outcome of the next Presidential election.
The declaration triggered celebrations in Abuja, Kano, Port Harcourt, Lagos and other cities nationwide, where party members watched the Summit live. On the social media, #Atiku2027 trended for hours, as supporters posted videos of rallies and prayer sessions.
ADC Party Leaders described Atiku’s speech as the clearest signal yet, that the opposition is mobilising early for the 2027 elections.
They said that Atiku’s reference to Lincoln, was to underline his commitment to national unity, rule of law, and giving every Nigerian a fair chance.
Atiku closed by urging Nigerians to get their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, and protect their votes on election day.
He concluded: “Let the people vote. Let every vote count. And let the will of the people prevail.”
