The Media Team of the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has dismissed reports claiming the revered monarch urged Nigerians to support President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement signed by Prince Bashir Adefaka on Tuesday, the team described the report as false, malicious and an attempt to drag the Sultan into partisan politics.
The statement stressed that the Sultan, as a father figure to all Nigerians, does not endorse political candidates and remains committed to offering guidance, blessings and counsel to leaders and politicians regardless of their political affiliation.
