Legendary Nigerian music icon Chief Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye, popularly known as King Sunny Adé, has royal roots in both Ondo Town and the Akure Kingdom.
His paternal grandfather was an Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, making him a prince of Ondo Town through his father’s lineage. Through his mother, Princess Maria Adesida Adegeye, who was one of the daughters of Oba Olofinlade Afunbiowo Adesida I, the 41st Deji of Akure Kingdom, making KSA also a prince of Akure Kingdom and a member of the renowned Adesida Dynasty.
