Something is clearly wrong within the APC in Ogun State, and it is no longer something that can be brushed aside.
Across Ogun East and Ogun Central, tensions are rising, voices are getting louder, and many party faithful are beginning to ask hard questions. At the center of those questions is the leadership of Olusegun Osoba.
For a party that once prided itself on structure and coordination, what we are seeing now feels different, uneasy, unsettled, and increasingly divided.
OGD AND THE OGUN EAST EQUATION
In Ogun East, the situation around Gbenga Daniel has become a major talking point.
He is not just another politician in the system. His presence in Ogun East politics is deep, and his connection with the grassroots is well known. That is why recent developments around party activities in the district have caught attention.
There have been reports of desperate attempts by the current governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun to clinch the Senatorial ticket by all means, even going against the directive of President Tinubu, organizing a kangaroo endorsement in the in Ogun east recently, that alone has created tension. For many observers, the concern is simple, it sends the wrong signal to those watching from outside.
AMOSUN AND THE CENTRAL BALANCE
In Ogun Central, a similar conversation is happening around Ibikunle Amosun.
Amosun who remains a strong political force in the district. His structure did not disappear after leaving office, and his influence still shapes political discussions in Ogun Central.
So naturally, when there are signs of friction or uncertainty around his position, it creates concern. People begin to wonder how the balance within the party is being managed.
THE REAL ISSUE: LEADERSHIP AND BALANCE
When you look at both situations together, one thing becomes clear, this is not just about individuals. It is about how the party is being managed.
Ogun APC has always had strong personalities and different camps. That is not new. What matters is how those differences are handled.
Right now, many within the party feel that the balance is missing. And that is why attention is turning to Osoba. As a leader, the expectation is to bring people together, to manage interests, and to keep the party stable.
But from what is playing out, many are no longer sure that is happening.
WHY IT MATTERS NOW
This moment is important.
Ogun State is a key part of the Southwest political space, and whatever happens here will have wider implications, especially with eyes already on the next election cycle involving Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Strong states come from united parties. When internal issues begin to grow, it affects confidence, planning, and direction.
WHERE THINGS STAND
Right now, people are watching closely.
Party members, stakeholders, and even ordinary observers can see that something needs to be handled carefully. Conversations are happening, positions are being taken, and expectations are rising.
The APC in Ogun State has navigated challenges before. The difference this time is how visible and sensitive the current situation has become.
What happens next will go a long way in shaping not just the party’s internal strength, but how it is seen going forward, this is the reason why President Tinubu must act now to put things in order as Osoba’s reckless partisanship, vendetta, and lack of capacity is threatening the Party before it gets worse.
