He received his early education at St. Peter’s School, Ake, Abeokuta, between 1922 and 1926, before proceeding to Abeokuta Grammar School from 1927 to 1928. He later attended the prestigious King’s College, Lagos, between 1929 and 1932.

He was a Nigerian administrator, lawyer, and diplomat who served as a United Nations Under-Secretary-General.

He was the former head of the civil service and Chief Secretary to the Government of the old Western Region of Nigeria from 1955 to 1962.

He became the United Nations Under-Secretary General from 1962 to 1967

In 1967, SOA (as he was widely known among the Egbas, including late Ayinla Omowura, who sang a song in his praise, SOA Adebo o, ore Olusegun lo’nse, Akintokunbo o, Saburi Biobaku, OmoOba Ademola, etc.) was appointed the Director -General of UNITAR (United Nations Institute for Training and Research) to advance international cooperation, research, and leadership training for developing nations.

Family Life
Chief Adebo married Miss Abimbola Majekodunmi, daughter of the late Chief D. A. Majekodunmi of Ikija, Abeokuta, in the present Ogun State, Nigeria, and their union produced four children: one daughter and three sons.

Chief Simeon Olaosebikan Adebo, the Okanlomo of Egbaland, died in 1994.
