The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District VI, Mrs. Mojisola Christiana Yusuff, led her management team on a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Oba Isa Abiodun Olakunle Faronbi Shekoni, the Osolo of Isolo, to strengthen collaboration between the education sector and the Isolo community.
During the visit, Mrs. Yusuff expressed concern over the rising cases of student indiscipline, particularly within the Okota school cluster. She emphasised that while the government continues to provide a conducive and secure environment for learning, the support of parents, traditional institutions, and community stakeholders is essential to restore discipline and maintain school infrastructure.
“We are calling on the community to join hands with us in bringing sanity back to our schools,” she stated. “Discipline is a shared responsibility, and we need everyone’s involvement to create a safe and productive learning environment.”
In his response, Oba Faronbi Shekoni reaffirmed the Palace’s commitment to education and community development. He acknowledged the existing cooperation between the community and the education district and pledged to mobilise parents and stakeholders to address the issues of indiscipline and security. The monarch also raised concerns about encroachment on school lands in the Okota area and promised to facilitate regular communication between the Palace and the education district.
The visit marks a renewed partnership aimed at fostering a disciplined, secure, and supportive educational environment for students in the district.
