Large crowds gathered in several cities, including Hamedan, Arak and Isfahan responding to a call by the country’s leadership for national unity.
Protesters chanted slogans condemning the United States, while emphasizing opposition to the destruction of public and national property.
The demonstrations followed a nationally televised address by Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. In his address, he stated rioters vandalized national property in order to please Trump.
He added that Iran “won’t back down in the face of those causing destruction.”
Khamenei said the United States was facing deep internal problems of its own and argued that President Donald Trump should focus on governing his own country.
Furthermore, he stated that Trump has blood on his hands and is responsible, alongside Israel for the 12-day war carried out in June, “Trump’s hand stained with blood of 1000+ of Iranians who were killed in June US-Israeli aggression.”
