Back in 2015, when the APC faced GEJ, they strategically chose a strong Northern candidate, Buhari, rather than picking from the incumbent’s zone. This approach proved successful, even with GEJ’s party holding over 27 governors.
As we look toward 2027, the political arena will be different. I think the ADC should select a widely accepted Northern candidate paired with a strong and acceptable Southern candidate to challenge the failed APC government.
Atiku Abubakar is now a key figure in Northern politics, especially after Buhari’s demise, while Peter Obi is the most favored Southern politician among voters today.
Winning in 2027 requires strategy, not just emotions. Presenting a presidential candidate from same zone as Bola Tinubu will be an advise only APC folks will savour.
For the ADC to succeed, sacrifices will be necessary—emotions alone won’t secure victory.
Both candidates (Atiku and Obi) have proven leadership abilities and a clear vision for our future. A repeat of the 2019 ticket could be crucial in sending Bola home for good.
I hope and pray the ATIKU/OBI 2027 ticket is presented! ✊🏽
