Madam,
This letter serves as a formal CEASE AND DESIST NOTICE issued in the interest of protecting the reputation, integrity, and legal rights of Senator Dino Melaye, a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and a public figure of national standing.
NOTICE OF CONCERN
It has been brought to our attention—through repeated video recordings, livestreams, and digital broadcasts—that you have persistently mentioned, referenced, and invoked the name of Senator Dino Melaye (directly and indirectly) in the course of your ongoing online disputes and personal altercations.
While it is understood that public figures are often subjected to public commentary, criticism, and opinion, what is neither permissible nor lawful is the deliberate use of an individual’s name in connection with allegations, insinuations, or narratives for which you possess no verifiable evidence, and which appear to be rooted solely in rumor, conjecture, or social media gossip.
DEFAMATORY IMPLICATIONS
Your repeated references to Senator Dino Melaye in unrelated personal conflicts amount to:
• The misappropriation of his name for the advancement of your personal disputes;
• The publication and repetition of unverified claims, innuendo, and insinuations;
• Conduct capable of lowering his reputation in the estimation of right-thinking members of society.
This, by all reasonable legal standards, constitutes defamation of character, whether by implication, repetition, or reckless disregard for truth.
The fact that blogs or third parties may have previously published allegations does not grant you license to recycle, amplify, or weaponize such narratives. Faceless platforms are one matter; a known individual speaking repeatedly and publicly is another entirely—and the law makes a clear distinction.
FORMAL DEMAND
Accordingly, you are hereby formally directed to:
1. Immediately cease and desist from mentioning the name of Senator Dino Melaye, whether directly, indirectly, by reference, insinuation, nickname, or allusion, in any of your online content, shows, videos, livestreams, or publications.
2. Refrain from using his name as a tool, shield, or weapon in your personal conflicts or public feuds.
3. Withdraw and discontinue any existing content where his name is used in a defamatory, misleading, or unsupported context.
NOTICE OF CONSEQUENCES
Take notice that this communication constitutes a first and final warning.
Should you persist in mentioning, referencing, or associating Senator Dino Melaye with allegations or narratives without clear, admissible, and verifiable evidence, we shall have no alternative but to instruct legal counsel to take all necessary steps to protect his rights.
In such an event, you will be required, under due process of law ,to produce strict proof of:
• When the alleged events occurred,
• Where they occurred, and
• How and in what capacity you were personally present to witness each and every claim you have publicly asserted.
Failure to substantiate such claims will expose you to full civil liability, including but not limited to actions for defamation, damages, and injunctive relief.
RESERVATION OF RIGHTS
Nothing in this notice shall be construed as a waiver of any rights, remedies, or causes of action available under Nigerian law. All such rights are expressly reserved.
We strongly advise that you treat this notice with the seriousness it deserves and govern yourself accordingly.
