The Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Kazeem Olanrewaju Alogba has sworn in 126 new Notaries Public, and 11 out of them appeared virtually.
Administering the oath of office at the ceremony held at the Osborne High Court Complex, Ikoyi, Lagos, Hon. Justice Alogba charged the newly appointed Notaries Public to uphold the integrity, responsibility, and ethical standards required of their new office.
He also emphasised the importance of the Notary Public to the judiciary and the legal system, urging them to maintain the highest standard of authenticity and integrity in their work. He said. “Your signatures hold significant weight, and they are representative of the Judiciary.”
He further advised that they should ensure that all documents notarised must be legal and genuine, and carefully verified before endorsement, adding that the authenticity and accuracy of the documents they handle are of utmost importance, as these documents often have both national and international implications.
Speaking on behalf of the newly sworn-in Notaries Public, Mrs Opeyokun Gloria Adejoke Esq promised not to fail in discharging their duties and also not to involve themselves in anything that will embarrass the Chief Judge and the entire Lagos State Judiciary.
