Why such a retrogressive reaction from Lagos State Government? Is it because of the internal revenue it generates for Lagos state government? If there’s a lapse in Nigeria Maritime system, must we allow it to continue without being corrected?
A country like Nigeria with over 230m citizens is just operating one functional seaport and Lagos state government think it is normal because it is in its control. Is it not embarrassing? In United States, they have over 300 plus harbours/ports, in China, they have over 2,000 plus ports, in South Africa, thev have over 8 commercial seaports and in Canada, they have over 599 port facilities. ” You can f00l some people all the time, but you can’t f00l everyone forever”.
