Taofeek Adaranijo Hall was filled with excitement as journalists, community leaders, civil society groups, traditional authorities, youths, and residents gathered for the official 100-Day Press Briefing. The event, expertly anchored by Mrs. Adebukola of the Information Department, became a moment of collective pride—an acknowledgment that something new is happening in the homeland community of Orile-Agege.
For many present, the celebration was deeply emotional. Hon. IDOWU Akinola Abiodun is not a stranger to Orile Agege; he is Orile Agege. Born, bred, and buttered in the community, he attended primary school here and left Orile Agege Community High School exactly 30 years ago. Today, “Dodo,” as he is fondly called on the streets, carries this identity with dignity—walking every corner of the LCDA with the familiarity of one who knows the people and their pains.
Leadership, for him, is not a title—it is a lived experience.
Where Hon. Taofeek Adaranijo, ran an open-door administration and his immediate predecessor Hon. Sunday Babatunde Johnson ran a project focused administration, Dodo has taken both concepts even further. His government operates a no-door policy—a style of governance where the people do not just approach him, they walk into their own government without hindrance. It is a government of the people, by the people, and truly for the people. On projects, Dodo has taken off from where is immediate predecessor stopped.

enhance WAEC, NECO, and JAMB readiness;
empower thousands of students annually; and
reinforce Orile-Agege as a centre of educational excellence.
This vision aligns with his broader commitment to youth development and future-driven educational investment.
A Leader in Sync With His Community
During the Q&A session moderated by the Head of Information, Dodo responded confidently and transparently to questions on road construction, teacher recruitment, market reopening, sports development, health infrastructure, digital reform, and agricultural expansion.
His commitment to establish a new maternity centre in Ward C—currently underserved—further underscores his concern for the most vulnerable.
In his remarks, he credited his Vice Chairman, Councillors, and management team for their support, describing them as “the best in the history of Orile Agege LCDA.”
