By Aare Amerijoye Dotb:
In the blistering theatre of Nigerian politics, where egos clash like titans and ambitions burn like unquenchable fire, one name continues to haunt boardroom whispers, dominate beer parlour debates, and ignite frenzied political calculations in both the day and the dead of night, Atiku Abubakar.
Yes. He remains their nightmare. Their headache. Their chronic political migraine.
While the ruling APC fumbles under the weight of its own incompetence, and while certain cowardly elements within the PDP gnaw at the fabric of loyalty with their mouths full of envy and their hearts soaked in treachery, Atiku Abubakar marches on, undaunted, unbothered, and unbreakable. A man too seasoned to be shaken by the tantrums of political toddlers or the cacophony of cowardly cynics.
Let me tell you a story.
In a small village, there lived a mighty elephant named Awekunle. Every time he walked through the forest, the hyenas, jackals, and dogs would howl, bark, and leap, hoping to distract or dissuade him. But Awekunle neither looked back nor lowered his steps. His strength was known. His path was clear. His purpose was fixed. They barked. He marched. They wailed. He triumphed. And when they plotted, he conquered.
Atiku Abubakar is that elephant.
The detractors, some with loud mouths in APC, others whispering betrayal within PDP, and the cowardly “neutral voices” who sit on the fence by day but gnash their teeth by night, have come to realise a bitter truth: Atiku is not just a politician; he is the enduring phenomenon of Nigerian democracy.
When they sleep, his image appears.
When they speak, his name slips out.
When they plan, his shadow looms large.
Even their silence is an admission of his dominance.
They said he would not be in the same party for 2027 with Peter Obi, they feared their combination. He did. The reconciliatory moves between both leaders, seen during strategic political consultations in recent months, and which metamorphosed into ADC sent shockwaves across partisan lines.
They said ADC was a mirage. It is now a moving train, crushing the sandcastles of weaklings.
They said his ambition would divide the opposition. Today, it is uniting the discontented, the deprived, and the determined.
They hoped age would weary him. Instead, he has grown stronger, like wine matured by fire. They banked on propaganda to drown him. But truth has floated him higher. They thought time would erase him. Yet here he stands, towering, towering still.
Atiku Abubakar is the political encyclopedia that these revisionists fear to open. His every page speaks of experience. His every chapter reveals strategy. His every footnote screams of victory past, and victories to come.
As Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration descends into economic hellfire, and the APC continues its festival of failure, Atiku and the ADC coalition stand as the only formidable bulwark against authoritarian incompetence and democratic decay.
He has become the thorn in their arrogance, the needle in their inflated pride, the voice in their guilty conscience. The detractors may wear different faces, but their hearts beat to the same dread, Atiku is coming.
The PDP’s internal saboteurs, who wear the cloak of loyalty by day and the dagger of betrayal by night, should be warned: history has no mercy for traitors. And 2027 will expose the Judases. Those in APC who mock him publicly but secretly study his playbook are welcome to keep learning, he is their teacher whether they like it or not.
Let it be known: Atiku Abubakar is not running against anyone. He is running for Nigerians, for the unemployed graduate, the hungry child, the retired father unpaid, the businesswoman crushed by inflation, and the dying hopes of a nation yearning to breathe.
So to his detractors, we say: thank you.
Thank you for keeping his name in the news.
Thank you for reminding Nigerians who the real threat to your comfort is.
Thank you for exposing your fear, because your fear is our hope.
And thank you for the free publicity.
Every insult you hurl is a billboard for 2027.
Because whether you like it or not, positively or negatively, ATIKU REMAINS YOUR HEADACHE. ADC is the Party.
And for us, he remains the cure.
The battle is drawn. The troops are assembling. The masses are awakening.
2027 is not far. And the trumpet of liberation will sound.
The man they hate to hear, the man they dread to face, is coming again.
The man of the masses, with determination to give the Nigerian people respite.
This time, not just to contest.
But to conquer, and to comfort.
Not just to win power,
But to wield it in service of the Nigerian people.
A new dawn awaits.
