The story of Nigeria today is no longer fiction , it is a grim reality, loud and bitter, echoing across the landscape. Under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria has witnessed a descent not just into economic hardship, but into moral and administrative chaos. Governance has become a tragicomedy. The people bleed, but the government smiles. In place of policy, we have propaganda. In place of relief, we have repression.
President Tinubu rode into office promising “Renewed Hope.” But two years down the line, what Nigerians have received is a renewed nightmare of recycled failure. From the onset, his presidency has been marred by arrogance, insensitivity, and breathtaking detachment from the plight of everyday citizens.
This is the only administration in Nigeria’s history that could boldly celebrate purchasing an Escalade, a yacht, and an Airbus, even as over 100 million Nigerians groan under the weight of poverty. His wife donates a billion naira to a university, while public hospitals operate without syringes and children die from preventable illnesses.
He loudly removed the petrol subsidy, only to reinstate it quietly , at a higher cost. He promised transparency but now awards multi-billion naira contracts without competitive bidding, allegedly favouring close associates and family-linked companies.
This is not governance. It is an entitlement , a government reduced to an echo chamber of self-praise, presided over like a personal empire, where sons review military parades, wives command fleets of official vehicles, and loyalists occupy every national institution.
Every index screams failure:
Inflation is at record highs, pricing food out of reach;
Businesses are shutting down under harsh taxation and policy flip-flops;
Unemployment is rising, with despair eating deep into the dreams of Nigerian youth;
Fuel prices keep skyrocketing, while power supply remains abysmal;
Nigeria’s foreign policy is in shambles, as ECOWAS disintegrates and our global respect dwindles;
Banditry thrives, even as barracks are being named after a Commander-in-Chief who has failed to command clarity.
As philosopher Hannah Arendt wrote: “The most radical revolutionary will become a conservative the day after the revolution.” Tinubu, once the voice of opposition, now leads the most repressive government in recent history , arraigning protesters, silencing dissenters, and turning governance into a theatre of absurdities.
Simone Weil reminds us: “Oppression that is clearly inexorable and invincible does not give rise to revolt but to submission.” Yet, Nigerians remain resilient. We may be battered, but we are not broken. Because we believe ,and we know ,that a better Nigeria is not just a dream; it is possible.
And that hope is found in Atiku Abubakar.
Come 2027, Atiku is coming, not with lavish entourages or jets bought with taxpayers’ money, but with clarity, courage, and compassion. His mission is not driven by tribalism but by truth, not by nepotism but by national purpose, not by showmanship but by statesmanship.
Atiku is coming, not to distribute palliatives, but to rebuild productivity.
Atiku is coming, not to entertain sycophants, but to empower citizens.
Atiku is coming, not to serve a region or a religion, but to serve Nigeria.
As Plato once warned: “The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.” The time for silence has expired. This is a moment for patriots — not puppets.
To Nigeria’s youth, market traders, civil servants, farmers, students, and the disillusioned , there is light ahead. Let no one deceive you into accepting pain as permanent. Let no one preach submission where outrage is just. Atiku is coming , and with him, a breath of fresh air, a bold direction, and a future we can believe in.
Let Tinubu keep his yacht. Let him rename military installations after himself. Let him ride in his Escalade. But come 2027, let the Nigerian people rise, with one voice and one vote, to ride with Atiku Abubakar , a man who feels the pulse of the people, understands the weight of leadership, and possesses the will to heal and rebuild.
Enough of gimmicks.
Enough of lip service.
Enough of empty slogans.
Atiku is coming , and rescue is near.
