There comes a moment in history when the rhythm of destiny thunders louder than the drums of betrayal. That moment is now. That rhythm is Atiku Abubakar.
Once upon a time, in the heart of a vast savannah, the animals gathered in secret, whispering treacherous schemes to deny the lion his place. They mocked his gait, questioned his roar, and accused him of unworthiness. But in their feverish plotting, they forgot one sacred truth: Àti dádé kìnìún kò sẹ̀yìn Olódùmarè , the coronation of the lion is not by man’s vote, but by divine ordination.
Today, in the ferociously shifting sands of Nigeria’s political arena, we witness this very allegory unfolding. The lion, whose name they fear to whisper but cannot avoid shouting , Atiku Abubakar , has become the obsession of both his allies and adversaries. Like moths drawn irresistibly to a flame, they circle his influence, some to bask in its warmth, others to try and extinguish it. But what they fail to understand is this: Governance is not a playground; it is a Leviathan contract with the people , sealed with purpose, sanctified by sacrifice, and executed through vision.
Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President and Waziri of Adamawa, stands not merely as a political figure but as a phenomenon , an enduring symbol of democratic resistance, unity, and vision. His political sojourn reads like a tapestry stitched with both tribulation and triumph. He has stumbled but never fallen, wounded but never silenced. Each betrayal he suffered has only strengthened his resolve, each conspiracy crafted against him has only elevated his relevance.
In the brewing storm that defines 2027 politics, Atiku leads what can only be called the “Coalition of Conscience” , a gathering of patriots, visionaries, reformers, and disillusioned progressives who believe Nigeria must be rescued from the abyss of economic catastrophe and democratic decay. Unlike the APC, whose politics thrives on flip-flops and populist delusions, the Atiku-led coalition is anchored in experience, tested governance philosophy, and a credible roadmap for unity.
His detractors, particularly within the party and among exiled political adventurers like Nyesom Wike, have taken to the airwaves, dishing half-truths and stirring chaos. But in doing so, they commit the error of Herod , trying to slay destiny in its infancy. For even in the Holy Book, the Lord said unto my Lord, “Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.” (Psalm 110:1). What was meant for evil, God turns to good. Every attack against Atiku has only made him more relatable to the Nigerian people , a Moses among Pharaohs, a David against the Goliath of state capture.
Let us be clear: conspiracy against Atiku is not new. From the bruising primaries of old to betrayals by party insiders, from propaganda machines to judicial intrigues, he has faced the Leviathan. But as Simone Weil once wrote, “The future is made of the same stuff as the present.” If they fear his ascent today, it’s because they know the justice he represents tomorrow.
The recent assaults on his character, the deliberate silences in the corridors of power, and the so-called unity governments designed to sideline him ,all these are but the growls of jackals sensing the inevitable return of the lion. For every time they mention his name in ridicule, they etch his name deeper in the hearts of the people. Apọnmita kìí pofo… Every step in pain is a stride toward purpose.
A new wind is blowing, and with it comes clarity. Nigerians now understand the pain of misplaced trust, the agony of national mismanagement, and the cruelty of hollow promises. They have tasted the bitter fruit of deceit and are now craving the sweetness of credibility. Atiku represents the latter.
As we approach 2027, it is not just about politics. It is about redemption. It is about restoring the soul of a nation long held captive by cabals and chaos. It is about saying: never again shall we be ruled by leaders who dance on the graves of the hungry. Atiku Abubakar remains the clearest, most experienced, and most determined candidate to lead this charge.
The coronation of the lion is not decided in the jungle of noise, but in the stillness of divine purpose. Those who fear Atiku’s rise are not afraid of his flaws , they are terrified of his clarity. They are not worried about his past , they dread the future he envisions.
In the end, we must remember: Àti dádé kìnìún kò sẹ̀yìn Olódùmarè. Let the political animals rant. Let them hold secret meetings and whisper conspiracies. Let them invoke divide-and-rule tactics. But they will watch, helpless, as the lion returns mount the throne , not by might, not by propaganda, but by destiny.
May we have the wisdom to choose not just a leader, but a deliverer.
