In a nation where truth has been traded for propaganda and loyalty for betrayal, there emerges a voice they cannot silence, a vision they cannot erase.
As we approach 2027, this piece dismantles the falsehoods, revisits the stolen mandates, and lays bare the unstoppable resurgence of a man who embodies Nigeria’s truest shot at redemption — Atiku Abubakar.
Read with an open mind. Digest with a patriotics.
APC Propagandists, – Atiku must not contest.
PDP Atiku detractors – Atiku is the problem.
They have continued to make Atiku an issue.
And millions are agitating for Atiku.
Why the ruling party would not do in a day without mentioning Atiku for condemnation.
Their counterparts in PDP are having sleepless nights attacking Atiku.
Atiku supporters are daily rooting for him and defending him.
And millions are agitating for him outside there.
Permit me to correct some misrepresentations and reawaken our collective memory.
First, the defeat of PDP in 2015 did not originate from Atiku Abubakar or the G7 governors. The crisis had much deeper roots, and pretending otherwise is nothing but selective amnesia.
The true beginning of the PDP’s crisis was the internal schism that rocked the Nigerian Governors Forum , where two factions emerged:
One led by Rotimi Amaechi,
The other led by Olusegun Mimiko, a pro-Jonathan faction.
The splitting of the Governors Forum, which was the backbone of PDP’s political machinery, weakened the party’s cohesion.
Was that the creation of Atiku Abubakar? Absolutely not.
Furthermore, the breach of the PDP zoning agreement in 2011 widened the internal cracks.
The Northern elites had insisted it was their turn after President Yar’Adua’s demise, considering that the Southern Presidency (Obasanjo 8 years + Jonathan acting president and president) was now running into 13 years, while the North had only ruled 2 years and 11 months.
Obasanjo himself begged the North to allow Jonathan complete a single term, promising he would not contest again in 2015.
But Jonathan reneged.
Jonathan’s insistence on running in 2015 would have extended Southern rule to 17 years, and Northern rule still stuck at 2 years 11 months.
Is this the “tradition of zoning” that some loquacious detractors are now invoking conveniently?
Was it not the North’s turn in 2011? Was it not even more so in 2015 (when 2011 was conceded making the Southern presidency 13 years 1 month against the northern 2 years 11 months)?
Where were these loquacious zoning agitators and gasbags in PDP then?
When the Northern leaders protested and prominent figures like Obasanjo warned Jonathan in his letter”Before it is too Late,” , highlighting issues of leadership and divisiveness, Jonathan instead responded dismissively.
Obasanjo wrote in that letter:
“Mr. President, I am constrained to write you this letter because of my personal commitment to Nigeria’s unity, stability, progress and the dwindling fortunes of the nation under your watch. Nigeria is bleeding and the hemorrhage must be stopped.”He further warned:
“You promised not to contest in 2015 to allay fears and to promote national unity; yet the political calculations suggest otherwise. This is dangerous for our fragile polity.”
Jonathan’s response was disdainful. He accused Obasanjo of “playing to the gallery” and acting out of “personal interest.”
When the South-South leaders turned on Obasanjo viciously, he tore his PDP membership card in disgust.
Was that Atiku’s creation too?
Where were these Atiku-blamers then?
Moreover, the exodus of five PDP governors (Amaechi, Kwankwaso, Aliyu Wamakko, Murtala Nyako, and Abdulfatah Ahmed) under the New PDP faction was a direct consequence of the zoning breach, the NGF crisis, and Jonathan’s high-handedness then , not Atiku’s making.
Atiku merely took the mood of the North and aligned accordingly.
Thus, attributing the PDP’s collapse to Atiku is both historically inaccurate and intellectually dishonest.
Now, for those who are still hell-bent on tarnishing Atiku, let it also be made abundantly clear:
Atiku never truly lost the 2019 election.The so-called loss was orchestrated by systemic manipulation, widespread electoral malpractice, suppression of voters, and a compromised judiciary that refused to interrogate glaring evidences. It was not a fair fight , it was a sabotage.
In 2023, Atiku did not lose to Tinubu.Nor was his failure due to not picking Wike as Vice President , that is a misleading narrative.
The real factors were:
The unexpected upsurge of Peter Obi, who polled over 6.1 million votes, effectively splitting the traditional PDP base,
And the ruthless suppression of Atiku’s massive votes across Northern strongholds through voter intimidation, ballot theft, and questionable cancellations.
2027 will be different.
The masses are now awakened, embittered, and determined.
Atiku is ready.
The structures are realigning.
And the historic movement to reclaim Nigeria’s future is gathering unstoppable momentum.
Let us raise the level of discourse beyond innuendos, unverifiable claims, and baseless vituperations.
History, when honestly told, will vindicate the just.
