MTN subscribers in Nigeria are expressing frustration and disappointment as they are unable to purchase data using USSD codes since yesterday evening. Despite multiple attempts, users have been met with failure, leaving them confused and unsure of what to do.
One user shared their experience, stating, “I tried over 5 times using GT Bank and UBA, it didn’t work. I’ve tried again this morning, still the same.” This sentiment is echoed by many others, including small business owners who rely on MTN’s services for their daily operations.
The lack of a statement from MTN has only added to the frustration, with one user exclaiming, “Too much wahala in this country!” Another user confessed, “I am confused. I don’t know what to do.”
This issue is not isolated, as many Nigerians have previously expressed dissatisfaction with MTN’s services, including data deduction issues and poor customer service.¹ The current USSD failure has only exacerbated the situation, leaving users feeling helpless and uncertain.
As the situation continues to unfold, MTN users are eagerly awaiting a response and resolution from the telecommunications giant. Until then, users are left to find alternative solutions, causing inconvenience and disruption to their daily lives.
