It is important to note that Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege was a former House of Representatives aspirant for Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu federal constituency in the PDP prior to the 2003 general elections.
He was later appointed as Executive Assistant by Chief James Ibori and later as Commissioner Special Duties (Government House) and thereafter as Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG).
He was also the front runner for the PDP governorship ticket in 2006 and later the governorship candidate of the defunct RPN and ACN in the 2010 governorship re-run and 2011 governorship election in Delta State.
It is not only foolhardy for Stella Okotete to attribute the political success of Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege to herself, it is very insulting. Especially when she was probably still in primary or junior secondary school when Obarisi Omo-Agege was making waves in Delta State politics. Is it not laughable? Anyway, I am not surprised, when small girl don swallow wetin big pass am. She go measure shoulders with her elders.
In 2014, Omo-Agege participated in the PDP governorship primary election that saw the emergence of Senator Okowa as the candidate of the party. The likes of Stella Okotete worked for Mr. Tony Obuh of blessed memories, a move that rendered her internally displaced in Okowa’s political circle after his emergence.
Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege left the PDP for Labour Party to run for Senate. We campaigned vigorously and worked very hard for victory at the polls. Though tactically rigged out, but by the grace of God, he retrieved his mandate at the Court of Appeal, Benin Division.
Whilst we were in the Senate, Chief Ayiri Emami brought Stella to Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to accommodate her in his office, given her jobless status in Delta State. A request Senator Omo-Agege granted without a second thought. Chief Ayiri did not stop there. He went on to introduce and recommend her to Chief Timipre Sylva. It was Chief Timipre who recommended her to the SGF for appointment. At this point, President Buhari had met with Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and has perfected plans for him to join the APC.
Prior to the announcement of her appointment, President Buhari insisted that the SGF should clear with Senator Omo-Agege and get his support before going ahead to announce Stella’s appointment from Delta State. Again, Senator Omo-Agege did not hesitate to give his support for her to be appointed. And she was appointed.
Fast forward to 2019, after Senator Omo-Agege’s emergence as Deputy President of the Senate, Stella wanted to be in-charge of the office to determine who should be who and who should get what. A move that was turned down by the Senator that got her seriously infuriated and bitter till date.
Before the 2023 election, she and others which I will not be mentioning for now came together, ganged up and worked against the governorship ambition of Senator Omo-Agege despite series of reconciliation meetings convened by the key actors in their circle.
In his bid for peace to reign, Senator Omo-Agege entrusted some of them with important responsibilities in his election, but they sold him out for monetary gains. They have regrouped again under their inconsequential and wishful “college of leadership” that is bound to fail.
Stella and her partners in the business of propaganda go about lying against Senator Omo-Agege that he did not work for President Tinubu in the last election. Telling people in Abuja that Omo-Agege worked for Peter Obi, using videos of members of Obident Movement that came together to endorse Omo-Agege as their candidate for the governorship election, since they didn’t see any credible person or who they can entrust the mantle of leadership in Delta State to. After the election of President Tinubu, the blackmail of Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege started in Abuja.
Then, in Delta State, she goes about telling lies that President Tinubu hates Senator Omo-Agege and does not want to set his eyes on him. She is also telling people that Senator Omo-Agege stopped her ministerial appointment. The same man she said the President hates? Unfortunately, she is not bold enough to tell her supporters the truth that those she did “Oluwole and Jankara” business with were the ones that stopped her from becoming a Minister because they have every detail of her escapades and dubiousness. It is clear that Senator Omo-Agege is not responsible for her ministerial misfortune. She should hold her “customers” responsible.
She boasts of having billions, how she became a billionaire by just heading a bank is very questionable, EFCC has some work to do here. She also boasts of how she has made people billionaires, but she has failed to mention one person from Delta State that she gave a loan and support from NEXIM Bank to establish a business.
Senator Ovie Omo-Agege is not important, but you people won’t let him rest. Like Senator Omo-Agege has consistently said, the party congress will come and go, and the most popular will of the people will emerge and prevail.
The only political capital Stella claims to her CV is that her LG won federal constituency and Local Government Area, forgetting that the winning votes for that constituency and LGA are from Orogun Ward 2, Senator Omo-Agege’s Ward. Omo-Agege works, Stella takes the credit.
It is her consistent disrespect and disregard for her superiors was what earned her expulsion from the Presidential Campaign Council under the leadership of former Gov. Fashola and same made her to be told not to come near Edo State and Ondo State in their recent governorship elections. Because she is good at running leaders down and trying to take people’s glory.
