In the early 2000s, a young Rihanna was photographed with her family at their home in Barbados, where she was born to accountant Monica Braithwaite and warehouse supervisor Ronald Fenty. Growing up in Barbados, Rihanna’s life changed in 2005 when she was discovered by American record producer Evan Rogers. At just 16, her demo was sent to Def Jam Recordings and caught the attention of the company’s new CEO, Jay-Z. After auditioning for him in the US, Rihanna secured a six-album record deal, marking the start of her incredible journey to stardom.
