Politics is local! It is the same everywhere in the world. If you followed issues in the just concluded American election, you’d understand my drift. Here are some issues that shaped the polls: 1. The economy 2. Family and Reproduction (man, woman, man-man relationships), 3. Female presidency 4. Racism (America First) and other related issues. In Nigeria, you have almost the same issues- The economy, Female presidency, ours is religion (Muslim-Muslim or Muslim-Christian ticket), racism, which comes as region (he’s Hausa, he’s Igbo or he’s Yoruba). Note: Donald Trump is 78 and would be 82 years old by the time he’d be leaving office, making him the older American President to date. Age wasn’t an issue, the guy was convicted and impeached three times in the past, has several legal cases based on his failure to file tax returns etc, yet the American citizens said they preferred him to a woman with a clean record. If you still don’t understand that politics is a scoundrel, I wonder when you will learn.
In 2027, some of these issues will come up in our elections, don’t say I didn’t tell you when you begin to cry blue murder over election results.
