After a search was conducted on all three bags Munju brought into the country, two contained 74 parcels of the illicit substance and weighed 35.2 kilogrammes.
The Canadian, in her statement, said she was visiting Nigeria for the first time.
She also claimed she was recruited to traffic the illicit drugs to Nigeria by an online platform. She was to be paid CAD10,000 upon successful delivery in Lagos.
Munju added that she offered to carry out the delivery because she needed to pay for her master’s degree programme back home.
