In a week-long series of events, Mr Sholaye Jeremi CEO Speyer Holdings, bid a final farewell to his beloved mother, late Mrs. Lilian jeremi, in a grand burial ceremony held in sapele Delta State.
The commemoration commenced with a solemn Service of Songs on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at her country home no 3, Ejiro Drive off Esiri Avenue, ugbeyiyi sapele, Delta State.
The event drew family members, friends, and well-wishers who came together to pay their respects and honor the life of the departed matriarch.
The Funeral Service took place on Friday, August 30th 2024, at 10 am, at first Baptist Church (of the Nigerian Baptist Convention) 31, palmer road, sapele Delta State.
Following the service within the Jeremi’s family, and later laid to rest at the mama Lilian jeremi compound 3, Ejiro Drive off Esiri Avenue ugbeyiyi sapele , amidst heartfelt tributes and condolences.
Reception and celebration of life of mama Lilian jeremi were celebrating with the family members, friends, and well-wishers at Artiletic club, G.R.A Sapele. continued with greetings and expressions of support during the trying time.
The high-profile event witnessed the presence of notable personalities, including the Representatives of the Governor Delta State and deputy; former governor of Delta State chief James ibori CON, chief Emmanuel uduangha CON, chief Henry imacheka OON, chief terry waya, chief obi Jackson chairman Nextoil, chief Dr. Ibe kachukwu former minister for petroleum, chief Dr. Greg nwazeru, chief Julius Rone OFR MD UTM construction (Gas king.), chief Timi Alaibe, Nollywood super star Mr mofe damijo (RMD), Members of Delta State assembly and Edo State, Prince segun oniru former commissioner of tourism Lagos state, business tycoons, Dr.(Mrs.) Ajoritsedere Awosika, MFR , mni, e.t.c
Sunday, September 1st 2024 outing service at first Baptist Church, sapele, marked a day of Thanksgiving beginning at 9 am. Family members, friends, well-wishers were at the church for Thanksgiving.
The heartfelt ceremonies paid tribute to the life and legacy of Late mama Lilian jeremi , offering solace and support to her children, Mr Sholaye Jeremi and siblings.
BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF A MATRIACH MRS ORITSELUMEWO LILIAN JEREMI;
Mrs Lilian ORITSELUMEWO Jeremi was a rare gem and beauty in eyes of all who knew her.
Born 30th of September 1949, to pa Tennyson Edemayibo Atsedagho and late Mrs titi O Tennyson, in the ureju area of Delta State. Mama was the 3rd of 9 children.
Her early education commenced in 1957 at St John’s primary School at Ajamimogha, warri, Delta State. She further proceeded to have her secondary education in ZIk’s secondary school 1965, in sapele.
Post her secondary school days, as it was customary at that time, so she got married and commenced her entrepreneurship career with trading in commodities. In her later years, her marriage to late pa Paul Jeremi led her to sapele where she improved her trading in other commodities. As a business woman, all her life she was mostly interested in food commodity items, as well as household commodities, the later which became her passion thus making her to give her best to her communities and beyond. She was excellent in her fish trade , to the extent that she was nicknamed as ” mama Bonga”, and she remained the source of getting quality, mama was a very sociable individual friendly, and enjoys interacting and supporting others. The social settings is one of her best environment where she thrives , support people to being their best while she enjoys the company of all. She is known to be very approachable, empathetic and supportive as well as encouraging good relationships. She was an active member of the uranran obonteghareda society. Mama must be commended for always looking good on and at every occasion – indeed, a woman of substance and great confidence.
She served her God as a good Christian even unto her time of passing on; she was generous person, a great mother, grandmother, caring and relentless. She had a heart of gold touching the lives of everyone around her.
Her strength was usually unwavering especially in the face of life’s challenges, which she took on with God’s grace and focus. Mama was known not to have only loved family, relatives and friends, but clearly she was caring and kinds to her neighbors to the extent described as obedience to the words of God.
