HRM Oba Muhammed Babatunde Saliu (Elebo ll)
As His Royal Majesty Alayeluwa Oba Muhammed Babatunde Saliu, the Elebo ll of Oworonshoki Kingdom marked the 1st coronation anniversary since he ascended the throne of his ancestors, his siblings urged aggrieved royal family members to support him since there can’t be two kings on a throne at a time.
Newsconnect reports that the Olori ebi of Oworo kingdom Prince Ahmed Saliu made this assertion in an interview at the event having thanked God for the journey so far on behalf of his younger brother, Oba Babatunde Saliu.
In his words, he said;
“We are thanking God today after a year since the new king of Oworonshoki Oba Babatunde Saliu emerged.
“He has embarked on different projects for Oworo kingdom since he emerged as the king. Some of them include the facilitation of road, and the supply of electricity.
“He has empowered market women, he had empowered indigenous sons and daughters of Oworo, he has organised football competition to deal with youth restiveness.
“We pray to God to spare the lives of Kabiyesi so he can embark on many more developmental programs for the people in Oworonshoki.
“My advise for the people in Oworonshoki is that they should be patient and watchful for the good things that await them in Oworonshoki through Oba Saliu.
“Soonest, Oworo will be like you are going to another Banana Island, I urge our people to be patient as we await new development.
“For the royal family members that are still aggrieved should forgive Kabiyesi, because we can’t have 2 kings on a throne.
“They should come together and give their support to what God has done”. Prince Ahmed said.
Princess Omobolanle Saliu Adigun, one of the sibling and a younger sister to Kabiyesi talked about the essence of the celebration.
“I am so excited for today despite the uproar before he ascended the throne of his father, we thank God for this year’s celebration.
“We thank all the monarchs here present. We thank Oba Jafo, we thank Oba Ojora, we thank the Osolo of Isolo, and every other Kabiyesi that came but not mentioned.
“You can’t discountenance the fact that some people may still be aggrieved about the emergence of our king among the royal family members. However, as time flies, they will come to terms and be on the same page with the king having seen his great achievements.
“Kabiyesi fights no one, he embraces all and sundry. I feel in a matter of time, everything will be sorted. We thank the residents of Oworo and the Chiefs for their corporation for our new king”. She said.
Honourable Kafilat Ogbara, Member House Representative in Kosofe constituency reeled out the achievement of Kabiyesi and urged the people in Oworo to continue to give him their support so that Oworo Kingdom can record more peace and development in the axis.
His Royal Majesty Oba Saliu Babatunde Saliu was born Into Multiple royal families. His father Oba Bashir Oloruntoyin Saliu was the first Oloworo of Oworonshoki Kingdom and a member of the Ojora Royal Family While his mother Olori Adeola Saliu(New Ashade of Ogba) is from Ashade and Oluwa Royal families.
He began his education at Irepodun Primary School, Sari Iganmu Lagos. And Proceeded to Comprehensive High School, Aiyetoro Ogun State. On Completion of his Secondary School education, he gained admission to Lagos State University (LASU) Where he Studied Micro-Biology. Afterward, he traveled Out of the Country and Obtained Certificate Programmes in the United Kingdom. Oba Babatunde Saliu later came back to the Country and Obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, and a BSc. in business Administration at the Prestigious University of Lagos. Akoka and a Masters in Philosophy and Professional Masters’s in Public and International affairs.
He is Currently Running his Ph.D. Program at UNILAG. The soft-spoken first-class monarch is a Vibrant, resourceful, dynamic, intelligent Person with a wealth of experience in both Private and Public Organizations. He has promised to bring to bear this wealth of experience in the running of the kingdom’s Affairs.
He was once a Personal Assistant to the 16th president of the federal republic of Nigeria. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu., Served as Special Adviser (SA) on Waterfront, Infrastructure development between 2012 and 2015 to the former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, And was the Senior Special Assistant on Lands matters to the Lagos State Governor Mr Babajide Sanwoolu ( Mr Sellable). Oba Babatunde Saliu was the Vice Chairman of Kosofe Local government. He had aspired for Chairmanship before he was nominated Vice Chairman. He is a renowned Philanthropist and human Capacity developer. Oba Babatunde Saliu is happily married to Olori Bukola Maryam Saliu and they are blessed with lovely Kids.
He is celebrating 1st anniversary of the ascension of his father’s throne as Oloworo of Oworonshoki Kingdom.
He became the second Oloworo 11 of Oworonshok Kingdom with the motive and mission to boost the Oworo community among his peers, however, knowing him for rendering service to humanity and for selflessness prompted physical cash worth millions of Naira, disbursement of Grinding Machines to the less privileged, and many more to mention but few in commemoration of his one year on the throne.
Fuji Mestro King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall and his fuji band in company of Alhaji Alabi Pasuma Wonder entertained dignitaries and guests who graced the one year coronation anniversary.
