Festus Keyamo SAN, one of the spokespersons for Tinubu’s campaign team recently revealed what Yusuf Datti, Labour Party vice-presidential candidate, allegedly did in Kaduna state that gives him no right to question Tinubu or call his mandate a stolen one which is not constitutional. He stated this during an interview with Seun Okinbaloye of Channels Television few hours ago.
According to him, Yusuf Datti once contested for a senatorial position in Kaduna and allegedly stole the people’s mandate. He stated that Yusuf was sworn in as a senator, but the person challenging his victory took him to court and won which was why he was removed from seat. He went further to say that Yusuf Datti has no right to call Tinubu’s mandate a stolen one or say it unconstitutional, because he is the only one who has allegedly stolen someone’s mandate before.
He said, “Datti was removed from office twice in Kaduna. He stole the people’s mandate. He was sworn in as a senator, but the person challenging his victory took him to court. He rode under Buhari’s wings to win that seat. No one was against him at that time even though he was carrying a stolen mandate.
“At the end of the day Datti was removed from that seat after a Judicial pronouncement. Why is he now opposing the same procedure that he benefitted from?”.
