Human interference is the reason why we cannot have a 100% credible election in Nigeria.
To conduct a direct primary is like conducting a general election. Even INEC, with all its resources, still struggles with the challenges of corrupt and dishonest electoral practices, including unintentional errors.
What would you expect of political parties that do not have a system and resources even close to those of INEC? These were some of the flaws detected during the public hearing of the electoral bill before its passage. But unfortunately, some people view everything we say as “anti-Tinubu.”
To have direct primaries that may be closely described as free, fair, and credible, political parties need a system with less human interference – or one that is completely devoid of it!
It is self-deception to expect that you will not cheat if given the chance, or that you will not be cheated in an election that is 100% handled by human beings across the country. That is a lie.
I have videos where the election was rigged in favor of Rt Hon Chibuike R Amaechi, and I also have footage of Mohammed Hayatu-Deen ‘s too… So what are we saying?
We should just be realistic! This is a problem that was forced upon us by Tinubu through Akpabio, but the truth is, our political parties are not ripe for this. It exposes several loopholes and opportunities for rigging and corrupt electoral practices.
Atiku Abubakar had endorsement of ADC stakeholders across more than 20 states, how do you expect him not to win?
Accept Defeat! There can only be one winner, and you cannot have a perfect system.
