The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially introduced a “Collegiate System”, a bold and transformative governance model designed to end winner takes all politics and entrench collective leadership in Nigeria’s democratic process.
This innovative framework is built to promote shared power, inclusiveness, and team based governance, ensuring that leadership is not concentrated in the hands of a single individual.
This is not a system where one person becomes the sole winner of everything. It is a structure that ensures collective decision making and shared responsibility.
Under this model, even after the emergence of a presidential candidate, governance will reflect a team spirit, not an imperial structure.
If ADC produces the next government, it will not be an emperor presiding over an empire. It will be a collegiate system, where decisions are taken jointly in the interest of all Nigerians.
The party emphasized that the Collegiate System is designed to:
Keep all aspirants engaged and valued throughout the political process.
Ensure that no one is sidelined or politically excluded.
Promote unity and internal cohesion within the party
Strengthen party organs to regulate and guide elected representatives effectively
In this model, one candidate will emerge, but not as a conqueror of others, rather as a leader of a united team, backed by the collective strength of the party.
The ADC reaffirmed its commitment to building a united front, stating that all members and aspirants will eventually rally behind a single candidate for the greater good of Nigeria.
We are ready to confront the realities of our time, and we are confident that Nigerians will make the right choice.
