When the admissions came out, I was given a BA. French as the first option (which I am not going to study), and BSc. Economics is the second option because I have fallen short of the grade to be admitted into law.
What a life lesson.
I headed to the then Dean, seeking his favour so that I would be admitted to the ‘Grey Area’ dean’s list to study Law, but the dean told me that, Kongo Campus has no room for irresponsible radicals like me, and if he gave me admission, and I tried anything, they will expel me.
I decided that the safest thing for me was to stay at Social Science (Economics) and continue with my demonstrations and riots.”
~ His Highness Khalifa Muhammadu Sanusi II PhD CON Sarkin Kano
At that time, His Highness didn’t know that he would study economics and would later become the No. 1 economist in the country and the governor of its Central Bank.
