Asiwaju Solomon Kayode Onafowokan is the billionaire founder of Coleman Technical Industries Limited (Coleman Cables), which has become one of Nigeria’s leading indigenous manufacturers of electrical wires and cables.
Onafowokan, a respected industrialist and seasoned administrator with more than five decades of corporate leadership experience, founded the company in 1975.
Onafowokan, the Asiwaju of Remo Kingdom in Ogun State, is a former Deputy Chief Executive of Chellarams Plc and past President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). He is also on the board of organisations like NACCIMA, NECA, and MAN.
While he is the chairman of the company, George Olutope Onafowokan is the Managing Director/CEO, under whose leadership Coleman’s asset base expanded from N50 million in 2002 to more than N800 billion in 2024.
